Ingredients (per 4 hot dogs)

  • 4 hot dog buns
  • 4 beef, pork, or chicken hot dogs (your choice)
  • 1 tbsp butter (optional, for toasting buns)
  • Toppings:
    • Yellow mustard
    • Ketchup
    • Relish
    • Chopped onions

1. Heat the Hot Dogs

Choose your preferred method:

Boil:

  • Bring a pot of water to a boil.
  • Add hot dogs and cook 3–5 minutes until heated through.

Pan-fry:

  • Add a small amount of oil or butter to a pan.
  • Cook hot dogs over medium heat, turning until browned.

Grill:

  • Preheat grill to medium-high.
  • Grill hot dogs 5–7 minutes, rotating to get nice char marks.

2. Toast the Buns (Optional but recommended)

  • Lightly butter the inside of buns.
  • Toast in a skillet or on the grill until golden and warm.
