Here’s a simple recipe for Baked Garlic Parmesan Fries that’s crispy, flavorful, and super easy to make:
Ingredients:
- 4 medium russet potatoes (or about 1.5 pounds)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika (optional, for extra flavor)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (freshly grated for best results)
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)
Instructions:
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it with cooking spray.
- Prepare the Potatoes:
- Wash and peel (optional) the potatoes. Slice them into thin strips, about 1/4 inch thick, to ensure they bake evenly.
- Soak the fries in a bowl of cold water for about 30 minutes (optional, but this helps make them crispier).
- Season the Fries:
- After soaking, pat the fries dry with a clean kitchen towel or paper towels.
- In a large bowl, toss the fries with olive oil, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper until well-coated.
- Bake the Fries:
- Spread the fries out evenly in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Make sure they’re not overlapping too much, as this will help them crisp up.
- Bake for about 30–35 minutes, flipping them halfway through, until the fries are golden brown and crispy on the edges.
- Add Parmesan and Parsley:
- As soon as the fries come out of the oven, sprinkle them with the grated Parmesan while they’re still hot. The heat will help melt the cheese slightly.
- Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.
- Serve: Serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce (like marinara or aioli), and enjoy your crispy, garlicky, cheesy fries!
