Baked Garlic Parmesan Fries

Here’s a simple recipe for Baked Garlic Parmesan Fries that’s crispy, flavorful, and super easy to make:

Ingredients:

  • 4 medium russet potatoes (or about 1.5 pounds)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika (optional, for extra flavor)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (freshly grated for best results)
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it with cooking spray.
  2. Prepare the Potatoes:
    • Wash and peel (optional) the potatoes. Slice them into thin strips, about 1/4 inch thick, to ensure they bake evenly.
    • Soak the fries in a bowl of cold water for about 30 minutes (optional, but this helps make them crispier).
  3. Season the Fries:
    • After soaking, pat the fries dry with a clean kitchen towel or paper towels.
    • In a large bowl, toss the fries with olive oil, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper until well-coated.
  4. Bake the Fries:
    • Spread the fries out evenly in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Make sure they’re not overlapping too much, as this will help them crisp up.
    • Bake for about 30–35 minutes, flipping them halfway through, until the fries are golden brown and crispy on the edges.
  5. Add Parmesan and Parsley:
    • As soon as the fries come out of the oven, sprinkle them with the grated Parmesan while they’re still hot. The heat will help melt the cheese slightly.
    • Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.
  6. Serve: Serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce (like marinara or aioli), and enjoy your crispy, garlicky, cheesy fries!
